I try to combine the best of my training in teaching and writing to support organizing spaces where I work. At Our Climate, Clean Water, and Energy Allies/Solar United Neighbors, I have played a central role in building and maintaining curricular materials that help young people, newcomers, and other learners orient to and make sense of climate change, climate solutions, the connections between climate justice and racial, indigenous, class, and environmental justice, and be able to design strong climate justice campaigns.
For instance, I contracted with the nonprofit Energy Allies to lead the development of a 5-part curriculum on Energy Justice for a wide range of stakeholders: nonprofit workers in the climate justice field, nonprofit workers in other justice fields, and interested citizens without professional experience. I will be implementing this curriculum as the lead facilitator in the coming years with deep care, research, and genuine relationships with stakeholders to ensure that this resource integrates thoughtfully with the wisdom that already exists in the places we bring it.

At Our Climate, I helped develop nation-wide curricula on organizing basics (levels of organizing, activist types, spectrum of allies, power mapping, etc) systems of oppression and liberation, policy advocacy and more. I also developed and DEIJ practices within my own state program including: actionable Land and Labor Acknowledgments, adaptations of Tema Okun’s White Supremacy Culture and its antidotes, and adaptations of Nonviolent Communication and Conscious Leadership principles for climate justice.
With Clean Water’s Youth Action Collaborative at Malden High School, I continue to help them refine their three-part curriculum on local environmental issues (lead, toxics, waste, & climate), advocacy skills (writing & speaking, power-mapping), and projects. The curriculum helps youth design effective local action projects by breaking them into phases (mapping, refining, asking for expert feedback, labor, & landing).
I love all aspects co-learning about climate justice, whether it be curriculum design, teaching, facilitating, training, or consulting. If you think I’d be a fit for a project you’re working on, please reach out.
