I am a facilitator for complex, emergent, justice-oriented group processes. Drawing on my experience as a teacher, organizer, and writer, I help groups and individuals co-create and implement resources and processes that allow us to learn, grow, and do the critical work of our time.

I facilitate by helping groups to…
- articulate and embody a core purpose: Mission, Vision, Values, Justice Goals, etc.
- articulate and enact core processes: Rules, Roles, Communication, Decision-Making, etc.
- build and conduct effective meetings, especially the design and use of agendas
- create systems to organize complex events and campaigns: Membership Trackers, Advocacy Day Meeting Grids, Campaign Timelines, Event Run of Shows, etc.
- name, navigate, harness tension and conflict; repair harm—especially across age and other differences
- build systems and culture that welcome young people and other newcomers
- combine and leverage key practices from Nonviolent Communication (Rosenberg), Courage & Renewal (Palmer), anti-racism & dismantling White Supremacy Culture (Kendi & Okun), and Conscious Leadership (Dethmer, Chapman, & Klemp) justice
Places I facilitate…
- Massachusetts Youth Climate Coalition—Adult Administrator, co-founder: build and nurture membership, assist in organizing events, maintain digital resources, resolve conflict, and update, embody, and guide members on their Rules & Processes
- Clean Water’s Youth Action Collaborative—Youth Program & Coalition Co-Manager: help their Youth Action Collaborative members to design and execute effective local projects in collaboration with the community and decision-makers
- Heart-to-Heart—Facilitator of Earth Circle: develop and co-facilitate a radical listening program and practice space for anyone concerned about our relationship to and treatment of the Earth; draws on practices from Nonviolent Communication and the Center for Courage & Renewal
- Solar United Neighbors—Energy Justice Educator: develop and then facilitate an energy justice curriculum for organizers and other nonprofit workers to incorporate principles of energy justice into their work
For instance, I am currently partnering with Solar United Neighbors to facilitate a 5-part curriculum I created on Energy Justice for a wide range of stakeholders: nonprofit workers in the climate justice field, nonprofit workers in other justice fields, and interested citizens without professional experience.
